  Believe me, it really sucks. I had a youtube channel. I uploaded more than 60 video over the span of one year and at the end I got nothing. All that massive hardwork went in vain. I took a break and tried to research the topic that how can I help my video to get more views?

  I got a simple answer to the question. By getting my video listed in the search results. There are several other ways like social traffic, paid traffic.

• Social traffic is not constant. It comes for a day or two and goes away. 
• And paid traffic, It would be risky to spend on a  new YouTube channel as you may not be able to make any returns. 
• So the only reliable option left is to rank my video in the search results. But how?

Before I tell you the exact method to list your videos into  search, I should tell you something. Ranking video on YouTube and Google are two entirely different things.

     When you start a new YouTube channel, it has no watch time and YouTube doesn't rank your videos. On the other hand, Google has a complete different algorithm. It sees YouTube similar to other web pages and prioritize YouTube results due to it's high domain authority.
     So, making an entry in the top search results of Google would be alot easier than YouTube with a new channel.

Algorithms of Google vs Youtube

 Google and Youtube use two different algorithms to present their search results. For example, YouTube primarily focuses on the length and quality of the video and most important audience retention and watch time.

    On the other hand, google may show a video on the first page which is on the 100th position in YouTube for the same keyword. Because it focuses on the length and description of the video, keyword in the description, title and Backlinks of the URL.

So, when we are starting a new YouTube channel. You should focus on appearing your video in the Google search rather than YouTube. By doing so, you will get initial audience on your YouTube channel and some watch time. All this makes it easier to rank your video on YouTube as your video will get watch time.

Step No.1: Choose a low difficulty keyword with good number of searches.

     This is the most important step. If you'll choose any random topic and start making a video on that topic, there are very less chances of getting ranked, neither on Google nor Youtube.

    The difficulty of the keyword would be impossible for a new page. So, we should choose our keyword very wisely.

   This brings us to the next question. How can I find low difficulty keywords for YouTube. There is ahrefs, moz, keywordtool, and a tool completely dedicated to YouTube called MorningFame. Just Google your query and you'll get your questions answered.

Step No.2: Writing a script for atleast 10 minutes video.

Now, write a script for atleast 10 minutes video. I know that most of us don't write script for a YouTube video. But we're targeting google now using YouTube.

   Write a script 1500 words long, fully SEO optimized. Add keywords at the right place. Always maintain a ration of 2-4% of your keywords and never over use your keywords.

Step No.3: Make atleast 10 minutes Long Video.

Make an interesting and informative video. Watch time is very important. So, make an interesting video that people will like. I'm telling 10 minutes long, because long videos will boost your watch time.

Step No.4: Uploading the video.

Upload the video. And add the script in the description of the video. Keep the upper part of the description normal. You can link your social profiles and add real small description of the video in the description box. And at the bottom, add your script.

    Add few external links related to your keyword and niche, wherever suitable. There is no option to add Headings in the description. But you can break your script into small paragraphs. Add Headings in Block Capitals and finally save the changes.

Step No.5: The final step to make your video appear in the Search Results- BACKLINKS.

With my experience, I can tell you that 3-5 quality backlinks will do your work. But, you've to get quality Backlinks. 

 The internet is full of people to give you garbage advices like Comment Backlinks, Profile Backlinks. Believe me, these backlinks aren't worthy.

  Few good quality Backlinks are more than sufficient to rank a YouTube video which is such optimized to rank a keyword.
